Oh my goodness – this session, y’all!!! I absolutely loved capturing Ashton and Haeliey’s engagement session at White Rock Lake! I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite photos with you today. Stick around to read about their amazing session below!

It’s A Small World!

When people say “it’s a small world”, it’s completely true – especially with Ashton and Haeliey! They were actually referred to me by a very good friend from my high school days, and I knew these two would be a dream to work with following our initial call.

Let me give you a little insight on how small this world really is… Haeliey and Ashton both went to high school in Gainesville, which is about 45 minutes from where I grew up. After graduating school, I found myself finishing out my college career at Texas Tech in Lubbock. Haeliey went on to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene at MSU, and Ashton attended Texas Tech and graduated with a degree in Advertising. Ashton and I literally attended Texas Tech at the same time, attended the same “communications college” at tech, had the same major (initially before he changed it – LOL), had the same classes, and we didn’t even know each other at the time! How crazy!!! Haeliey met Karly, one of my good friends from high school, during her time at MSU and they became best friends. Fast forward to now, and here we are! You gotta love the small world we live in.

How Ashton Proposed

Ashton and Haeliey went to high school together (and started dating in high school), so they are high school sweethearts. How cute! After graduating high school, having attended two different colleges, they were long distance for a few years. Thankfully, they pulled through the difficulties of having a long distance relationship and were able to come out stronger on the other side. They never gave up on one another. Ashton and Haeliey have been dating for 10 years now and are FINALLY tying the knot!!!

This proposal is a good one! They spontaneously booked an 80s photoshoot, which is funny because they are both 90s babies, but they thought it would be super fun and different! Ashton told Haeliey that they were just there to take silly/fun pictures, and that it was originally his mom’s idea. Haeliey kind of had a suspicion that the proposal was going to happen at this shoot, and she was right! Ashton surprised her by getting down on one knee and asking the big question she’s been waiting 10 years to hear. She said YES!!

Ashton and Haeliey are getting married this fall during a beautiful church ceremony with a reception to follow. I cannot wait to celebrate these two!! Congratulations to Ashton and Haeliey!
