I’m so excited to share a few wedding day highlights from Derek and Amanda’s big day in Midland, TX! These two are seriously the sweetest duo ever, and I am so honored to have captured their special day.

I first met Derek and Amanda for their complimentary engagement session in October, and oh man, did we have a blast! Creating a fun atmosphere for my couples during their engagement session is such a huge priority – many many laughs were had during their session! I was so pumped to photograph their wedding day. As a photographer, it just makes my heart smile even more when I get the chance to photograph such genuinely amazing people. Derek and Amanda both have a heart of gold and their love for each other is undeniable.

I started the afternoon photographing Amanda getting ready. Amanda reserved a hotel room for the getting ready portion of the day, and I got super creative when photographing her details. Fun fact, most of the detail shots were taken on a sheer curtain panel! From the hotel, we made our way to an open field for the cutest first look that she shared with Derek, as well as with her three dads.

After Bride + Groom portraits, we made our way to the church where Derek and Amanda met and would soon become married! They shared the most intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. Then it was off to the dance floor. Derek and Amanda ended their wedding night with a send off! There was a little bit of a mishap – the sparklers were never delivered. So instead of a sparkler send off like they planned, they decided to use the fiber optic light-up wands (yes, I totally had to google that!!). This was so unique, and Derek’s reaction at the end was one for the books!

Congratulations to Derek and Amanda! I pray for nothing but love and happiness for your marriage!
