April and Jonathan’s Flippen Park engagement session was full of love, laughter, and genuine fun. From the first step into the park, it felt effortless being around them. They’re the kind of couple that makes everything feel easy and natural.

Their story began on Hinge, and their first date quickly turned into seven hours of adventure. A martini bar, a comedy show, hopping from patio to patio — neither wanted the night to end. Later that same day, they went to Catbird, calling it their “first and a half” date. Two years later, they’ve been inseparable.

Flippen Park Engagement

Flippen Park was the perfect place for their session. Moreover, the soft sunlight, quiet paths, and greenery made every moment feel intimate and timeless. We started with simple walks, shared laughs, and quiet glances that truly captured who they are together.

One of my favorite parts was their picnic setup. A blanket, cake, champagne, and custom glasses made the session feel personal and thoughtful. Additionally, those little details always bring out authentic smiles and connection.

We finished the session at Culpepper Cattle Co., where we used direct flash for a bold, playful look. April and Jonathan embraced it all — dancing, laughing, and being fully themselves. The mix of classic portraits and energetic flash images tells their story in a complete, genuine way.

Being with April and Jonathan reminded me why I love what I do. Their connection, laughter, and love shine through in every image. It’s the kind of session I’ll remember for years! April and Jonathan will be getting married this spring at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, with their reception held at the Texas Discovery Gardens. It’s going to be such a beautiful celebration!
