Addie & Jarrett’s Downtown Dallas Engagement | Dallas Wedding Photographer

Addie and Jarrett's downtown dallas engagement session | Dallas Wedding Photographer

Addie and Jarrett’s downtown Dallas engagement was a vintage romance inspired session! It was very important to them for their session to be both fun and romantic, and we did just that with a timeless flair. I love when couples have a very intentional vision for their engagement photos. I’m so happy we could bring their vision to life! Addie and Jarrett were an absolute joy to work with as we made our way around downtown Dallas. I love that engagement sessions allow me the opportunity to grow closer to my couples before we celebrate their wedding day. During their session, coincidentally, Addie and I found out we were both from the same small town and didn’t even know it! Also, all three of us graduated from Texas Tech (GO RAIDERS!) – how crazy! It’s such a small word and I love experiencing moments like this.

THEIR LOVE STORY

Addie and Jarrett met while they were in high school at a leadership camp called RYLA. Having known each other for years, they actually didn’t start dating until their freshman year of college. Addie described their first date as a “dream!” Jarrett reached out to Addie asking if she would like to go on a date with him, and of course she said yes! At the time, their schedules were very difficult to match up, so Jarrett drove 1.5 hours to Canyon to pick Addie up and take her on their first date. They went to Macaroni Joe’s in Amarillo, TX. Good food and GREAT conversations filled their time together.

The first year of their relationship consisted of many weekend trips to see one another as they were long distance. They began their college careers at separate campuses but eventually Addie would transfer to Texas Tech to finish out her degree and to be closer to Jarrett!

THE PROPOSAL

The months leading up to Jarrett proposing, he started a new tradition. Once a month they would have a fancy date night and get all dressed up! Little did she know, this was months in the making to ensure Addie was wearing a dress and heels when Jarrett proposed. The week leading up to the proposal, Jarrett mentioned they would be going on a fancy date night that Saturday and she was SO excited! He made the reservation for the restaurant and they were on their way. Addie was making conversation the entire time during the car ride and wasn’t paying attention to where he was driving to. Jarrett pulled up to a beautiful chapel. He had pictures of important milestones throughout their relationship framed on a path leading up to the chapel! Along the walkway, Jarrett stopped at each framed picture and told her why they were significant to him.

As they made their way up to the chapel, Jarrett got down on one knee and asked Addie to be his wife. It was the most perfect day! Addie was completely surprised and overall amazed at the work he did to make it happen. They celebrated with a surprise engagement party including their closest family and friends at a hotel nearby!

Congratulations to Addie and Jarrett on their engagement!! I am truly so excited for you both. I can’t wait to celebrate with you next year at The Gardenia Venue. Cheers!!
