I am so excited to be sharing Grant and Abby’s Dallas Arboretum engagement session with you today!! These two absolutely have me SWOONING! I had the best afternoon with these two. Their session screams spring to me, which is my favorite season of the year. We met at the arboretum for an afternoon session to catch some of that dreamy golden-hour lighting. It was tulip season at the arboretum, so we had lots of fun scoping out locations and capturing photos by all of the beautiful colors. By the way, I would definitely recommend scheduling a morning/afternoon to visit the arboretum while they still have the tulips on display. It was so pretty!! Thankfully, we had such beautiful weather for their engagement session – definitely not too hot. Grant and Abby were not afraid to be their romantic selves in front of the camera, which always produces some of the most heartfelt photos. I am absolutely obsessed with how their sneak peeks turned out! Check them out below 😊

How Grant Proposed

Grant and Abby met their freshman year of college through Abby’s first boyfriend (coincidentally 😉). They are both from Tampa, FL, and made the courageous decision to move across the country to Dallas, TX for Grant’s job. They’ve been here for the last two years and will soon be celebrating 6 wonderful years together!

Grant proposed to Abby in the most sweetest way. They flew back to Tampa, FL for a family reunion on Grant’s side of the family. On the last day they were there (Halloween of all days), they were in the middle of taking family photos on the lake. They made their way to the dock towards the end of their session, and Grant told the photographer he wanted to do one more pose. He got down on one knee and popped the question! Of course, Abby couldn’t say YES fast enough! Funny story, Grant actually purchased the ring back in 2019 while they were still in college, so this moment was a long time coming and it couldn’t have been any more special for the both of them.

Grant and Abby will be tying the knot at The Cinnamon Barn in November of 2023. It is one of DFW’s newest venues – a beautiful white barn venue located in the heart of North Texas. I cannot wait to celebrate these two this fall. Congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs. Collie 🥂
